Pros

Great like-minded smart and inspiring coworkers. Best managers I've ever had.

Cons

I worked at Tesla full time in recruiting for 2 years. Worse company I've worked for ever. I wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy. No empathy or regard for employees. You're treated like a number. Please do not work here, it's really horrible.

Pros

Easily the best health insurance I've ever had. Decent pay. Ability to move up quickly (I mean within a year) if you prove your aptitude.

Cons

Literally everything else. Project Managers and Supervisors set the performance expectations so absurdly high and the moment you fall beneath them you get micromanaged into oblivion. They say the expectations are judged per period (this means every two weeks a new performance period starts), but the moment your stats start to go down you can be on a "coaching plan." You will get shuffled around and most likely be in 6 different workflows and two different projects in 6 months - you will get about a week's worth of training for each workflow, which generally consists of someone reading a PowerPoint and then setting you lose having no idea what you're doing. The people QAing your work often times have less experience than you do. I was a top performer through every workflow and had one bad period in 8 months and I immediately got removed from my QA role. They literally just arbitrarily rotate people in and out based on short-term performance. Also, flexibility is a HUGE issue, in that there's zero flexibility. In short, if you have any mental health struggles (i.e. depression, anxiety, etc.) or any chronic conditions or physical struggles, Tesla is not the place for you. The health insurance is great, until you realize you barely get any time to see a doctor or actually use the health insurance. I've never left a negative review of an employer, as I generally believe in a growth mindset, but Tesla is....a complete fiasco where incompetent and out of touch management will use the performance expectations to cultivate a culture of fear where you never feel truly comfortable or satisfied with your work, because even if you have perfect periods you get nothing. No thanks, no recognition, nothing, then if you are a human and not a robot and have one bad period, they'll relegate you to a lower role. Growth is not a thing in Tesla Autopilot division. In summary, the working in Tesla autopilot can be described with two words: Toxic Maelstrom.

Pros

The employees that you go to battle with every day are all amazing. For the most part it doesn't matter what devision you need help from (Sales, Delivery, Service) (Not including upper management) they are all going to help you to the best of their ability. Made some life long friends here and its disappointing not seeing them every day.

Cons

It is basically a giant fox hole/cult. They expect you to meet INSANELY high targets every quarter. You will get marked off track (Not completing your job and the required pace) if you don't hit your target every week. This is insane to me because you can be the top salesman or saleswomen exceeding your quarterly target by an outrageous amount yet its still not good enough. They continue to remove bonuses/lower the pay scale and on top of the remove valuable resources to get the job done right. Every advisor is dealing with 500+ clients and theres just not enough time in the day to get everything completed. It really comes down to the amount of micro managing. The store managers 90% of the time do not know what is going on and just relay messages on to their team from regional or national managers with little to know information. It wouldn't be that big of a deal but these "Policies/procedures" change weekly sometimes quicker so you cannot keep up. If you are on days off they say you are not supposed to interact with customers.......yet behind closed doors they want you to work 24/7. This review isn't just from a disgruntled formal employee its from an employee who busted their tail off (Top 10 sales every quarter) for this company and really believed in the mission they are trying to be successful with. Really thought I would have stayed here for the rest of my career truly disappointing. Good luck if you ever have to try and get a hold of the HR department. Last but not least...... they will tell you there is tons of room for internal growth in the company........ reality is.... they higher and fill every position from outside the company.
