Pros

TFA was recently recognized as one of Fortune's 100 great places to work in America, and one of the few non-profits to make it on the list. TFA is committed to its people, and recognizes that people are what make success and achieving the mission of the organization possible. Compensation is high for a non-profit of its size, and the benefits package and flexibility are unparellled.

Cons

The organization has been in growth mode for the better part of a decade, and the year on year growth the organization has tried to sustain has created challenges. In particular, TFA must continue to invest significant energy in hiring and onboarding new talent, which provides tremendous opportunity, but also means that managers often must take this on on top of ambitiuous goals.

Pros

The organization is intensely focused on its mission and works hard to maintain that focus. The people employed by TFA tend to be remarkably competent and are often even fun to hang out with. The work is very rewarding as you get to see young people develop into strong teachers and leaders.

Cons

TFA can quickly take over your life, regardless of how carefully you set up firewalls between work and your personal life. This is particularly true of working during the summer institute. TFA also can be inflexible when it comes to certain things, like time off or protocols for interacting with corps members.
