Red Flags Everywhere!!!

Pros

Lots of interview rounds makes you think they value you, but really is a way to criticize you to appreciate your position . You work hard , get lots of hours BUT work is not flexible like you would think. A pro is lots of room for growth bc people are constantly leaving their positions, but super dysfunctional internally with people in positions they shouldn’t be in and management creating a top down management style and clueless about the operations doing the work.

Cons

-Pursuasion into believing your salary is the best you’ll find anywhere (est $22-36 an hour and maybe that if you have a grad degree) - Manangement -Recruiting process is terrible -LACK OF DIVERSITY . They had me interview 8 times, and then had to meet with a person of color as an additional round for my role. Red flags when they started calling me during times i made it clear i was unavailable. The interviewer “forgot” to ask me questions so had to set up additional rounds , and but this point i already accepted another offer with Apple paying twice as much with half the stress. I’ve been around the block, and loved Tastemade before i got to work with them. They try to make it seem inclusive and fun to get you to believe in the brand and support illogical initiatives. It’s such a young company management is making promises they can’t keep, and with diversity and authenticity skyrocketing — they have tons of work to do. They seriously made me go through 2 rounds of diversity to meeting with people “like me , who are of color” which was two extra rounds of interviews that others were not asked to do. They are a STARTUP.They only care about the revenue coming in, and will pretend they have not made a single mistake even though interviewers were late, forgot appts, or were inprofessional in approaches. They also pressured me to stop interviewing with other jobs, asked my specific races, and specifically asked who I was interviewing with. Nosey, calls after hours, and pressures into uncomfortable decisions for their benefit. RED FLAGS EVERYWHERE!

Pros

Talented coworkers, occasionally able to create interesting work

Cons

Coworkers either quit or are getting laid off constantly, which is not a good sign. Management does not care about employees. You’re nothing but a number on a spreadsheet. This is not a place to grow your career. They will have you running on a hamster wheel. This is a company that depends on the hard work of freelancers but will work them until burnout. While they work more than 40 hours per week, freelancers don’t get PTO, and raises are a long shot. Plan on driving to work? Good luck finding parking as Tastemade does not provide for the majority of employees/contractors. Management needs to do some soul searching because it’s going to get harder and harder to retain talent (a lot of us are interviewing/applying for other jobs lmao).

Pros

The company has a lot of potential and it's a fun brand to work for.

Cons

Management is really disorganized and they make promises they cannot keep. They lead their employees on, work them to the bone, and then don't follow up on anything they originally promised. There is no accountability from anyone, and I honestly do no recommend working here other than for having Tastemade on your resume. And the way they mistreat and lead on candidates that they are interviewing is extremely unprofessional. Very disappointed in this company that I felt has so much potential, but this mentality all comes from management.
