Pros

Some wonderful individuals within a drastically flawed company

Cons

Didn’t want to leave a review, but couldn’t in good conscience pass on an opportunity to stop others from making this mistake. Culture, opportunities and vision are all non-existent at Tastemade. There is a reason that managerial and communication issues are referenced in nearly every review. There is a reason that at least one person leaves the company every week. Someone below said it best — “actually build, and invest in, a company culture instead of just saying there is one.” Unlimited vacation days and free snacks mean nothing in an environment where superiors have such a horrifying lack of respect for those working under them. If you’re looking for a sign, this is it. Do not work here. All of the negative reviews are beyond warranted. Nobody deserves to spend their days working in such a miserable environment.

Pros

The people are generally fantastic to work with day to day (with the exception of a few). There are free lunches and treats every week! Unlimited PTO (if fully taken advantage of). Healthcare plans are fairly generous.

Cons

Tastemade's upper management lacks adequate support and are often unable to manage different styles of employees. When gaps in processes and/or conflict arise there is little motivation to come up with anything aside from stopgap solutions. Teams are tasked with a substantial amount of ownership over campaigns - this often leads to a poorly skewed work/life balance. Employees are consistently paid under the fair market average for the volume of output they are required to manage.

Thank you very much for your feedback. We operate with a culture of open communication and feedback (to the point where any employee can chat with our CEO directly), and while it's no solace at this point, we would have surely welcomed your feedback. That said, in a fast-growing, dynamic startup, we can always take the time to learn how to manage better, and to that end, our management team is focused on hosting more open-forum team meetings to make sure every team member's voice is heard. Finally, we do recognize the value of our team and believe we demonstrate this value in compensation. Our People Ops team conducts regular market value comparisons for individual teams and employees, and we believe that this has consistently enabled us to retain the best and brightest talent across all our teams over the years. Thank you for your efforts at Tastemade, and we wish you the best of luck.

Cons
