The highs and lows of working at TeleTech

Pros

People, and Good Intentions: If you work with and for good people, it makes ALL of the difference at TeleTech. At the end of the day, they are the reason to be there, and there are good people at the company (albeit they don't retain them). From a corporate perspective, they really are trying to become a better company. They have a keen focus in improving on-boarding (to combat their bad rap) and overhauling their values on paper, but thats only skin deep. PRO: they have good intentions.

Cons

All talk, no serious action: The company is trying to undergo a culture change. The top leaders in the company know that they have a huge shift to make in order to make this company progress, the problem is this hasn't translated into their hiring process. If you don't hire leaders that will carry forth this new/changed culture its never going to happen. The bottom line is that the industry they are in is cutthroat and they are very set in their ways of how to "survive" in it. CON: they arent executing what is needed to better the company inside and out. Its talk and no serious action. In fact, there are some decisions that they have made that have worsened their culture.

Pros

I loved working at home. I was never late or stuck in traffic lol. With online shopping and direct deposit there was no need to put miles on my car. I usually worked in my footie pajamas and would eat while I worked, you aren't supposed to but soft foods like applesauce and fruit are hard to detect during a phine call. I really enjoyed the client I worked for and I gained a lot of customer service experience.

Cons

On the work at home contract, you can get lonely and burned out, also the pay isn't very high. The idea is you're saving a lot of money on travel, eating out and business attire, however if you have young children it's best to get childcare which can really eat away at your income.

Going downhill, fast

Pros

The have underground parking. Depending on the division you are in, there is a chance you will be pretty independent when it comes to oversight.

Cons

Upper management likes to bad mouth ObamaCare saying "well YOU all voted for this so now you will get it." Your personal politics should not be used against the employees. The company healthcare plan is awful, some people won't take a job at TeleTech because the health care is so bad. The operating leadership likes to randomly changes things on the whim. The IT department likes to delay purchasing licenses for a month or two which is stupid. Lets be unproductive for months to delay buying that license. The cost in savings is lost 10 fold in productivity.
