Pros

TTEC is a third-party outsourcing company. If you have ever called in to ask a question or voice concern about an issue, there is a good chance you may have been speaking to a TTEC employee who represents the company but is not a direct employee. For those who are beginning, TTEC is a good starter company that will usually pay for your licenses and training upfront. There are opportunities to move up or laterally but it may not be for everyone.

Cons

TTEC employees are expected to take a high volume of calls and minimize non-productivity. Whereas this is understandable to maintain client expectations, the time restrictions are very rigid. One can be labeled as a performance outlier if not immediately jumping to the next call, even though relevant notes and work are being completed after a call has ended. Roles are responsibilities are added but compensation is capped. Tenured agents with a wider range of roles are expected to perform with the exact metrics of new/single-skilled agents. Performance Bonuses are available but usually are difficult to obtain since multi-skill and single-skill representatives are lumped into the same performance metrics.

Pros

The access to information, if you really take the time to absorb and learn- you can advance your career elsewhere rather quickly.

Cons

Everything. Transparency on commission is non existent. Get paid commission every quarter but you have no idea what your getting paid or if it’s correct until day of. Also no guarantee on what you’ll be paid based on company budget. Training consists of power point slides for 4 weeks. Info dump; then sink or swim on the floor. Management here is terrible and spread thin. Not equipped to do the job by any means. As I mentioned you really need to take personal time out of work to really learn the ins and outs. I was a top performer here for 3 consecutive quarters, this was due to me taking time to learn outside of work. Ttec did a horrible job of preparing us for the job. Attrition here is over 50%. Get in, learn, and leave. Ask about commission, how it’s calculated, and you’ll see what I mean. In my year here I have watched 3 teams come and go entirely. This place is broken and management does nothing to change it.

Don’t get a job at TTEC, even if you’re desperate.

Pros

Some of the staff who are in the same boat as you are nice people.

Cons

I’ve been wondering about whether I should write this review for a while because I’m still there but I think it’s the right thing to do-if it stops one person working for TTEC than I’m glad I’ve been able to save someone the misery of working for them. There is no progression in your role; if you are lucky enough to progress unless you’re a team lead you will receive NO extra pay for progression. Not a single penny. You could get promoted twice and still receive £18.5k. Apparently they’re thinking of introducing a pay structure but this is based on tenure only so if you rise rapidly through the ranks expect nothing extra. Someone who has been there for 10 years and does nothing may be on more than you! The client I work for at TTEC hasn’t increased wages in two and a half years; I used to work for a company with a poor reputation but in ten months they increased my base wage by £750, and my promotion took my total wage increase from day one up to £2,500. Since then I haven’t been paid any extra whatsoever. The client listens to calls made between agents and monitors them. They essentially listen to private calls between agents and are not scared to bring up your conduct and attitude during these internal calls, even though legally they have no right to listen to them. Every team lead is your team lead. Expect to find yourself answering to people who have no control over you whatsoever-they just think they have a god given right to do so because they’re lucky enough to be paid a little more than you. Expect your workload to be increased substantially-not just in line with customer trends but based upon what the client wants you to do. Simple five minute tasks now take half an hour! Despite the fact that they monitor when you log on or off, expect to clock in and out like a child or you won’t get paid. They don’t care if you’re miserable. I’ve expressed my feelings numerous times to managers and to HR and nothing has ever changed. Empty platitudes abound here, my favourite is “we know it’s tough now but it will get better!” It’s never got better. Working for TTEC will make you miserable, lazy and wonder why you get up in the morning.
