Pros

good work life balance when needed

Cons

All upper management cares about are the numbers. They could care less how hard you work, your loyalty or experience. In many instances, they have looked the other way while employees engaged in unethical behaviours just to get sales. Employees are under intense pressure to exceed increasingly higher and higher quarterly sales goals. Reaching 100% of goal is not good enough. If you're not at at least 200% of goal, you are in constant fear of losing your job. Management literally stands behind each employee daily with a clipboard, recording everything the employee is doing wrong. Morale is at an all time low. People are being let go for "made up" reasons, and no one that is left feels safe. Pure greed is the driving force of this company.

Pros

If you fall in the right team, it will feel like a family

Cons

Worked as a CSR for 9 months. Word of advice for anyone pursuing this position: you better like doing sales. No matter how they sell this position, do not be fooled because this is purely a sales job. You have to meet your target daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly. You will be compared against your fellow coworkers publicly via email. Your results and everyone else's are shared via email (i.e. everyone can see what you are doing). You are constantly pressured to sell (total disregard for the customer). You will be coached weekly, and will be told off about your performance. You must meet your goals in order to move on to other positions, which is what most people take the CSR role in the 1st place. If you are terrible at doing sales I would recommend finding a better way to climb the ladder.

Pros

The people you work with at TD are usually very nice and very easy to get along with. It is a company where you will make lots of friends and meet lots of people. Especially if you work in retail.

Cons

The sales targets are very unrealistic and it is a very pushy sales environment at the FSR level. During my training for FSR I witnessed my manager lie to a client about the security of a mutual fund investment. It wasnt a miscommunication or a misworded answer. ..but a flat out lie. Just to get the clients signature and close the sale. People are generally overworked and sales targets are so high, that it's become an environment of sales staff making false promises to its customers.
