Pros

Discount was ok and most of the other managers on the area were lovely. They supported when it was needed and a good team effort.

Cons

Area manager and a select few store managers were nasty and I would label them as bullies. Absolutely awful way to run the area and you would only progress if you were part of the area managers inner circle. If I had the patience I would have taken things further to a formal complaint but nothing would change. Brown nose and it gets you everywhere.

Pros

Nice friendly people, weekly pay is a bonus for part time work. Good for those that like flexible shifts such as students

Cons

Gossip and back stabbing, organisation is absolutely pants, no information is passed when needed, over works staff, odd shifts for those that have commitments such as children

Pros

- pretty straightforward tasks/work - friendly staff, get on really well - good if you want a job in the meantime or part-time

Cons

-min wage - they nag you every single shift to keep upselling products, and it’s obvious most customers find it annoying asking them if they want to buy all of the Starbuy products. I don’t think it’s a very effective method and can put some customers off. There’s only so many face masks customers want to buy. You can get a disciplinary if you’re not selling enough - on top of the fact there’s no commission on selling starbuys anyway. - stores requiring a sales assistant to be on first aisle at all times in order to look out for thieves should invest in hiring a security guard instead. - clocking out on a closing shift can sometimes mean leaving up to 20/30 minutes past your shift ends as management require at least someone to be with them when cashing up, and there’s not always a second manager. You don’t get paid for the time you stay behind.
