Pros

Strong bond with team members

Cons

Horrible environment to work in. Witnessed lots of colleagues suffering with mental health struggles and stress. Lots of vacancies and a high turnover. Think before applying for a role here. Culture of work hard and put up with stress / never ending ridiculous deadlines / out dated systems and lack of support. Very sad that noting seems to be done to address such a high turnover and miserable teams.

Pros

staff discount was great and uniform is provided.

Cons

Majority of stores have no heating or air conditioning and management and higher up are not willing to fix it to the point where environment health had to be contacted. my store specifically had no working toilets (both male and female) for 2 months+ while staff were expected to work 6-10 hour shifts with these conditions. You are forced to sell "star buys" with no incentive and if you do not meet targets you can receive verbal warnings and Management pressure you to buy them to get your 'strike rate' up. nearly 1/4 of my wage went on star buys due to our store being in a fairly quiet town. absolutely no care for staffs mental or physical health; members of our team expressed feeling of anxiety and were dismissed by being compared to others mental health being worse. staff are overworked and underpaid. If you ask for days off (for example for a doctors appointment) management had no sympathy for this and from my experience i have been put in for a shift when they know i need time off. Travel expenses have to be begged for as HR (from my experience) don't seem to want to pay employees without at least 4 emails. Mandatory training that you are supposed to complete during work hours seems to have to be done at home. I don't have a single positive thing to say about the company. DO NOT WORK HERE. nearly 2 years here and i've never felt so low in my life.

Pros

Seeing familiar faces of customers who regularly come in. Some members of staff are really nice to work with there

Cons

BULLY tactics from all angles. No support whatsoever. Absolutely no thank you for hard work, the praise seems to go to the ones who are work shy but can talk the talk when challenged. Unfair expectations. Managers have an AWFUL and unfair attitude towards their staff, beyond unprofessional. Going home in tears , VERY degrading and uncomfortable place to work. Made to feel at fault for everything that goes wrong.
