Modern and clean building. This company handled the pandemic in a very good way. People were encouraged to work from home as much possible. There is close monitoring of people who are in the office. PPE is provided by the company consistently and there is a lot of effort to ensure social distance everywhere in the company. The workplaces are safe, clean,. Employees have great benefits and they are compensated properly (even during this long pandemic)!!!

Cons

As any other company, there are opportunities for improvement, for example the communication at all levels could be improved to prevent problems.

With COVID 19 cases on the rise, the leadership team has chosen now as the time to require all office employees to return to the office 50% of the time. We have to sit in an open office area without enough protection to keep us safe and healthy. Additionally, they require us to eat in a cafeteria, even when indoor dining is not allowed across most of Illinois (including the county the office is located in). Numerous questions and concerns were submitted about returning to the office and there has been no response. Every day, more COVID cases are reported and the positivity rate goes up, yet there is no communication from the leadership team. We are all concerned about our health and safety, but it feels that the company isn’t. The Sunstar philosophy is “Always strive to help people everywhere achieve better health and enhance their quality of life”. The recent actions during a worsening pandemic, do not align with this philosophy, as they are unnecessarily putting office employees at risk.
