Pros

Intellectually stimulating environment, with interesting people and flexible work schedules.

Cons

Staff salaries are not even remotely competitive for the Bay Area. There is no opportunity for advancement, and effectively no internal raises for staff. If you are hired in at a level, you stay there effectively forever. If you are looking at accepting a Stanford job, try to get the highest possible salary for your job band at the start, as that will be your salary for a very long time.

Pros

Good health benefits, transportation options, some-what flexible hours.

Cons

Management seems out of touch, unaware of uneven workload distribution among teams. Not transparent about salary/compensation within same job titles. Lack clear direction for job growth. High turnover leads to overworked employees who stay.
