Interview
I had a brief 15m Zoom meeting with one department head (not HR) for the first round. It felt very much like professional speed dating - they asked me about my background. Then they told me they to leave the call in 2 minutes and gave me time for one brief question. To me, it felt like I was never truly in consideration and this was merely checking a box. Perhaps I was wrong and just not the right fit. Compared to other interview processes in higher ed I've experienced, this was unique and not up to the same standard as other universities. I was surprised given Stanford's rep.

phone screening, first round, and then a comprehensive test. After that, there were a few more interviews after that. The whole process I would say, took about 2 months. Two of the interviews were via Zoom, and two others were in person.
