They do pay market rates for IT roles.
Cons
No real career progression. Some people there seem to want to end their working days there.They ain't gonna make way for those lower down or from outside for that matter. I worked on front office IT systems - I learned very little in the business trading area - in fact next to nothing. I previously had spent well over a decade on similar roles at other banks and was exposed to heaps of business activities, but here strangely one is shielded from the desk activities. I don't know if this a conscious decision by management or not, but I never spoke to anyone at all on the desk during my time there! All communication id done via BA's and support desk only. Seems like a BS way of developing systems for a trading desk.
