It could be a great company, if not for the culture
Pros
When I first started this job I was really excited. It was fun to come into a different kind of events industry. I certainly learned a lot and met some great people there. It was different from the same-old-same-old corporate environment. They had office lunches (not an offering any more). The office is designed really well but they had already outgrown the space by the time I got there, the open floorplan would be helpful were people not so loud. It sucked especially if you needed to use your phone for work.
Cons
- If you have ideas on how to improve things (and save the company money), you're going to be ignored or told it won't work. - The culture is work-until-you-drop, when you put 45+ hour work weeks in already they still expect you to answer the phone for an emergency you already provided solutions for (weeks prior). - Toxic, borderline abusive work environment. I saw burnout, PR nightmares and employee lawsuits waiting to happen on multiple occasions. - It's super cliquey, there's the "in-group", and the "good old boys club" - lack of benefits, poor pay
