It's gone downhill

Pros

Community's within studios are great, Studio teams are authentic and care about the reason this was all started, teaching inside the room is magical

Cons

HUGE disconnect between corporate and studios. Things corporate say and do are completely different. A lot of people incorporate are fake and two faced. Instructor compensation is a laughing joke. Corporate plays favorites

Fun For a Moment

Pros

Ride on shift, free classes, wear leggings to work

Cons

Expected to cater to the egotistical instructors and the entitled riders, all of whom treat you like trash. Expected to stay "transparent" to all staff even though the company is going through so much turmoil and there is no true transparency.

Fun but toxic and cliquey culture

Pros

Working at SoulCycle can be awesome. There can be really great people that you work with and meet, and you get free classes. It can be a spiritual transformation while working there and you really can grow as a person. It all depends on your studio management though.

Cons

It's more of a personality job than an actually workload job. You have to mesh with certain personalities and show that you can handle all the different characters of the studio and riders until you can get promoted. You can only get promoted and move into another position if your higher ups like you, because it's all based on recommendations and you can't actually earn a position for yourself. They expect much more of you than a typical part time job, and there's times where this is so frustrating . The company culture can be EXTREMELY toxic, and it's important that you separate yourself from the studio or else it can consume your life. It can be really fake as they preach a lot of values that aren't actually implemented, and expect a crazy amount of dedication from you.
