Pros

Their work from home benefits are one of the best I’ve received.

Cons

I wouldn’t recommend wanting to go into an administrative career to go with this company. They diminish their administrative staff, you’ll only progress if you’re liked by managers and there’s a toxic work culture where they care less for you if you’re unwell.

Pros

CEO Greg Craig is fantastic, sincere and has maintained honest and open communication directly to employees throughout COVID pandemic while admitting some areas of improvement. He is hugely respected within the company. Good culture as a business (have has some bad experiences on specific projects) but when working on a joint venture or with contractors you can tell the Skanska people by their approach to people, problems and work Generous pension and annual leave Overall take better care of employees than other competitors in the industry (doesn't mean they're perfect though). Fantastic approach to Working from Home providing people the option they need to get the right office equipment for a set up at home that is most efficient and comfortable.

Cons

Not the best payer. SLT tagline is the benefit of the overall benefit package is favourable, however, the salaries are slow to increase from Graduate level. Im sure many Grads, Apprentices would much rather have a few days less leave and higher salaries As above, disparity between being told what employees want vs what they actually want Project Bonus only given to those at senior level (commercial manager/project manger) and above so no recognition to the 99% of people on the project. Needs some work on how the Gender Pay Gap is reported. HR and Infrastructure reported together thus not reflecting lacking EDI in Infrastructure. Statistics from EDI is often reported with a 'Head Office' angle when Inclusion and Diversity is far less on projects - am aware this is a huge focus of the business that is actively being improved. Huge differential in salaries between joint ventures partners is ignored/skirted over when raised with SLT Paternity Leave still needs to be much better as does not reflect Skanska's Swedish Values.
