first off!! whatever hourly rate you start at is rate you will be stuck at unless you get promoted SOMEHOW.
when i first got hired i was under the impression that there is SO much room for growth but as much as i did everything right & did above and beyond my position, i never saw a raise or a promotion..
unless you are a top seller you will get the short end of the stick for scheduling.. meaning you will most likely work all late shifts (sometimes even overnight)
be prepared to deal with very aggressive customers!!
(i've received threats and even followed to my car)
veryyyyyyy small motivation and support from management.. supervisors usually are the ones running the show.
if you are interested in the check in agent position please be aware that you will be asked by your direct manager to make fake damages on cars, to check in the car with a lower gas level then it physically has.. just so that he gets his bonus & makes his money. there is a small bonus for check in agents but at any given moment it can be cut.. you will literally find out a day or two before receiving your direct deposit.
breaks are very unusual.. you do not get paid MEAL PREMIUMS for not taking a lunch before your 5th hour of working.. which is against the law. morning shifts are usually fully staffed so they take breaks in a timely manner.. evening shifts are usually under staffed with NO cars to rent out for the customer yelling at you (during a busy season). & usually hardly ever get a break.
once again if you see pizza in the break room.. RUN! you won't be taking breaks.. you will most likely be getting yelled at by customers all day!
if you are lucky.. you get a uniform before you reach 6 months with the company.
be prepared to be micromanaged..
good luck!!
