Pros

It is a fun industry to work in.

Cons

The CEO lies every year in interviews about the yearly sales numbers to fluff his egocentric personality. He reports 100 million in sales when really it ranges from a third to half that. He also brags about himself daily in the company wide morning meetings "Scrum" bringing up any lawsuits he's in and that he "doesn't care how much money he has to spend, as long as those (expletive) don't win." The company can't keep a Sales Manager (SEVEN in 5 years!) because sales decisions are now ultimately made by the COO who is a Sanford Profile dropout and knows nothing about sales. He also openly complains throughout the company how the top sales representatives "make too much money." The CEO has now given him control of the quotas which trend every year to sell WAY more yet the sales reps make the same or less despite the increased performance. All while the CEO continues to pat himself on the back that he "pays his sales guys the best in the state". They don't even give sales representatives a commission report. Some have created our own tracker which prove constantly thousands of dollars in discrepancies most months, but NOTHING is done when brought up. They don't even know how to pull the report in their "upgraded" system (NetSuite or as employees call it "NotSuite") and they fired the only guy that did. Great employees in all departments are let go without notice or explanation and if you disagree with either the CEO/COO on anything. Some of which that moved their families across the country to work there. Most people just stay quiet with the constant employee/customer complaints due to the risk of getting fired. Employees joke about an "8 month rule" because that is the longest most department's employees make it due to constant turnover from the culture or getting fired. Then if fired, they have no plan of action for that persons workload and just dump it on others in the department then critique them for delays in their normal daily workload. Silencer Central used to be such a great place to work... Don't waste your time and be part of the joke at "Sanford Central."

It's Good & Bad

Pros

My team was amazing. We did everything together, built the department from the ground up, and did it all while collectively having each others back

Cons

Lots of cons here. Upper Management is very belittling. They have people making decisions for departments that have no experience in those certain departments. They refused to listen to the people that work day in day out and live sleep and breathe in those departments. It doesn't matter if you work 80 hours a week, it will never be enough. Doesn't matter what you do for the company, they will get rid of you faster then you can blink. They will promise you one thing, and then it will never happen. I saw more people get walked out that door in my time at SC then I have ever seen at another company. The CEO, Maddox, will be a friend to your face, and as soon as you leave the room he has something bad to say about you. He refuses to bring up conflict in a positive way, he will blast you via email or in front of the entire company in the morning meeting. It does not matter if you bring anything up to your leader because they all answer to Maddox, or they report to someone that reports to Maddox and every leader in that building is afraid to bring the issues up to Maddox because it's his way or the highway. You will get canned just as fast as your got hired. Upper management is looking out for themselves (rightfully so). The only reason I stayed at SC as long as I did was because of my team. They are some of the best professionals in this very niche industry. The fact that we were able to execute the scale that we did is so impressive, but we constantly had to fight to get the recognition we all deserved. Once again, it was never enough. It is also worth noting, the 90% approval of the CEO is not accurate at all. During my time at SC, I was asked once to post a positive review on Indeed / Glassdoor by a marketing professional. I don't blame the marketing professional, as they were getting directed by Maddox and the HR team to get this done. The Leadership team at SC posts reviews to fudge these numbers.
