Pros

Trying hard to think of one. 401k match. There isn't a lot of positives for anything even remotely associated with the word Sears right now. Biggest PRO is it beats being unemployed.

Cons

Expects you to work 18hrs/day 7 days/week. Unrealistic expectations all around. Bazillion emails every day. Everything EVERYTHING is top priority and they come at you so fast you cannot keep up. Severe misalignment between the goals of the company and the people in the field including DSM's, and especially the franchisees and store owners. Far too many secrets, and too many in upper management got there because of who they knew. Work life balance is terrible. Conference calls are one of the biggest time wasters ever but for some reason, those in charge think they're fantastic. What they don't know is that everyone tunes them out and works on other things while the conference call host goes on and on and on. When an owner walks away from the contract, the RUSH to find another owner (at any cost) is incredible because "we cannot make money when WE run the store." Really? Then how do you expect a store owner to make a living? This is why the Hometown stores in Canada are suing and if the stores in the US could, they would. They tried to sue a few years back when Sears cut their income and commission rates but the arbitrator threw it out. Since then the entire company thinks they're bulletproof. Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't take this position unless I was seriously desperate. Turnover, even at upper levels, is very concerning. Every day or so there's another "Organizational Announcement."
