Pros

Good part of working at sear.com was learning a bunch of things quickly. Sears was and is always trying something new (and doesnt matter if that new shiny thing has no way to be a revenue generator) So one learns what works and what doesnt. Spend 6-12 months, learn and get out

Cons

Toxic culture. All set up to just please Eddie Lampert. Everyone from Intern to the President of Online - all they want to do is be on the good side of Eddie. Customers or business doesnt matter! Lots of infighting, political mess and incompetent people. Especially at DVP and above levels. Also if you want an inflated title this is the place to be.

Pros

It was a good place to gain experience in the commission sales lifestyle.

Cons

Sears is just plain out of money. They don't even have the liquidity to keep their shelves fully stocked. The store is now dimly lit during the week to conserve money. They're even eliminating commission in the electronics department; which personally would have cost me $10,000 a year.

Pros

The hours are flexible and there are a lot of them available, so I was able to pick hours to work around school and determine a schedule that was suitable for my life.

Cons

The biggest con was that the pay was minimum wage and the only way to add more to your paycheck was to get credit applications. With the economy not doing so well, nobody wanted another credit card to keep track of.
