Pros

Sears is a company that will provide opportunity for advancement for those willing to work longer hours and who are looking to grow within the company. The hours necessary for managers may be quite a bit, especially in peak times of the year such as during the holiday shopping season. However, if the performance and the willingness to develop your skills, you can get ahead with this compane.

Cons

Sears can place very high demands on employees, especially sales associates and sales managers, to meet high quotas/sales goals. Sears can be quick to terminate associates who are not able to meet these goals.

Pros

when i was younger sears was a good way to meet the opposite sex. When you are young being a commission sales asscoiate is a good way to earn a living especially during the holidays. those are the best times to earn about thirty dollars an hour.

Cons

they do not care about you. while i was there they took away pretty much all of our benefits, due to cost cutting. they are reallyy going down, after i left they took aways my department that was commission and changed it into a regualr open sale

Pros

There aren't too many Best reasons to work for Sears . It was nice to meet new people and see new faces while working there . I like how they'll give their own employees the opportunity for a higher position before hiring someone else outside of the building . Scheduling was sometimes nice with getting off early but sometimes you got stuck with staying later than you thought because of new tasks to finish up . It's a good job for people that only want to work part time while going to school or to work another job . .

Cons

The pay is a big downside of Sears . When I first started the pay was a little bit above minimum wage but not that much . So if you only work about 20 - 25 hours per week your check was ugly . Then they love to hire you part time but you end up working full time hours but you're not receiving any of the benefits that full time employees receive such as paid time off . After working a year you only get a 10 cent raise . They barely wanted to give you time off when you ask for it.
