Pros

I can just stand around and talk to people (im a salesman), they wont fire you unless you steal or do something really dumb, pay is pretty good for sales (if you are good/decent/know how to talk to people).

Cons

problems dont get fixed as quickly as they should, its retail, so you get bad customers sometimes. They mess around with your commission rates (at least they have recently, i guess its because of the bad economy and whatnot.) MCA's (people who clean up clothes etc dont get paid what they should. theyre the hardest working people in the store and get paid minimum. they were paid higher, until the minimum wage was increased. at my store, the air conditioning goes out a lot. they might just be doing that to save money though. thats what ive heard from some people.

Pros

Sears is a long time competitor in the retail industry, but they have lost some of their competitive edge in the last few years. They are working hard to gain back life time customers, but need to go back to focusing on customer service and doing whatever is necessary to take care of the customer.

Cons

Be prepared to work you butt off and never receive a simple "thank you" or "nice job." I have been with the company for several years and every day I wonder why I am still there... I would highly recommend looking elsewhere for a job.

Pros

Sears provides a great career path with lots of advacement options in Loss Prevention. With Sears if you can prove yourself you will only go up. The loss prevention program involves more than just catching shoplifters, it is also about stoping shrink and creating a safe working enviornment for all.

Cons

Senior managment can at times be very demanding and place large work loads that have to be completed with little time.
