Pay was above average, and it was close to my home. Campus was a bit dated but overall nice. I greatly enjoyed the covered parking in the wintertime.

Cons

From speaking to other ex-Sears employees (and those with ex Sears employees in the family) Sears seems to have a well-deserved reputation of getting you in, working you HARD for about 12-18 months, and then giving you the pink slip (regardless of job performance). My particular department 'restructured' & it coincided perfectly with the bonus I earned but now wouldn't get paid... Oh well. I will say the severance was above average, but I won't be looking too hard at Sears jobs in the future...

Pros

If you are a consultant appliance associate, there are opportunities to make some money if you are part time and can be flexible to work on weekends and some nights. Other than that, all other positions are either overworked and under payed, or no one on the team cares about their job.

Cons

Promotion opportunities are rare. It is not about how talented you are as a manager, but really about who you know. Was informed that I would be required to work on average 50 hours per week but really worked about 65 to 70 hours per week. Little support from Store Manager.... Left out there on an island to fend for yourself.

I was an LPM or (LPC) at Sears for 4 years prior to leaving 2 years ago. It was going down hill then. However it seems to be going back up now.

Cons

communication pay bonuses There also seemed to be a lack of communication between stores and leadership. This was a big issue for me.
