Pros

Good breaks: 1 hour unpaid, 2 x 15 minutes paid. Good onsite facilities including a large canteen and a Costa.

Cons

Poor pay and very few opportunities to ever progress. You are very much a number not a person. The staff turnover was high as work morale was low. The job is as you would expect from a call centre, however Santander had an extremely negative working environment as a result of poor management at levels above team managers.

Pros

Absolutely no pros whatsoever

Cons

You are called a local business manager or LBM and the job description says that building relationships with the local business community which is complete and utter bull, you spend your day with a list of people to call and offer them a credit card, if you don't open up the list everyday and make so many calls and then don't have enough credit card applications you end up in a world of pain and performance management. Servicing of your customers you are not allowed to do, so you end up spending your day little better than a cold calling sales person order taking. You are not allowed out of the branch to visit your customers or build relations with them, oh but don't forget you have to arrange a networking evening so that your customers can come to you.

Pros

Dress smart everyday, get to dress down on the weekends and occasionally on week days if you donate for a good cause. you can make some good friends there.

Cons

where do I start from. Management: Most of the manager's have their "Fav person" in their team so stay ready to face favouritism. Managers often contradict themselves when you approach them for help during a call. Some managers do not even know what they are doing and makes you wonder how on earth they became managers! Holidays: never get the time you want it off, their holiday booking system is extremely slow and does not work majority of the time, this means you'll have to get to your manager and ask them to get it authorised by the service delivery people. Again, if you're not the favourite colleague, managers will not act as quickly as they would with the ones they absolutely adore. Pay: Salary is very basic, there are other banks who offer a lot better pay.
