Pros

They might let you work from home sometimes Lot's of events if you are in Southlake.

Cons

Really not the best place for technically minded people. The business side likes to use lot of buzzwords and have a general overview that developers are a commodity. There is also a lot technical people in charge from when Mainframes ruled the earth. This results in lots of offshoring and badly designed systems. If you really like working on systems like it still the late 80's then you will love this place. It actually quite shocking how little people in key positions know. One positive thing is missing release dates are the norm so you really don't have to work very hard. Sabre actually works like a bunch of very small businesses this results in lots of duplication and products looking like they came from two different companies. Also sometimes who you report too just simply do not make sense like US developers having offshore developers as managers. Requirements from marketing are a joke and change on a daily basis.

Pros

Company as a whole is good place to work. Products are cutting edge. Southlake campus is nice place to work. Work from home encouraged.

Cons

Hospitality unit is in constant flux with pettiness, backbiting, and internal arrogance. Last few years have seen multiple reorgs in this unit. Several Hospitality execs bring their egos to work each day. Noticeably there is talent leaving this group, or will soon. Work/life balance is just lip service.

Pros

Lots of smart people and resources. They have been more prudent and savvy since going private. The TN "portal" business model is very profitable and is fun to work with, very strategic. Very international business.

Cons

They continue to off shore jobs. Over the last dozen years most American jobs have been moved overseas. Smart for management, but it limits medium and long term potential in the US. LOTS of politics. Disfunctional relationship between Marketing and Technology. Results is slow progress. They have seem to have an unofficial up or out policy. Oil prices could cripple the airline industry and the GDSs
