Pros

- Free parking/bus passes. - Work from home facility (although it's misused many times).

Cons

- Not an employee friendly company. - Bangalore is the worst site in Sabre. - Too bureaucratic. Mid and senior management needs a complete change. They have age-old mentality and are unwilling to adopt industry best practices. - Lot of work pressure, especially for Leads. NO WORK-LIFE BALANCE. Have been working for 15-18 hours including meetings since so long. And unfortunately management ignores this even when they are informed about this many times. - On top of this, you don't get growth. Because there all old timers who always get preference. - Please your bosses (even if you need to dance for that) and get promoted. - Highly distributed teams. No product owners, no dedicated scrum master. - Even if product owner is there, their hands are all tied up. - Team/Tech lead is supposed to be Scrum Master and Tech Lead and Architect and Manager. - In many cases local manager is just people manager while work-related manager will be in US. Local manager is not involved in team's day-to-day activities and won't even know what the team is going through. Remote manager doesn't bother what issues team is facing, they'll just keep loading more work. - All this is really frustrating and suffocating. Many good people coming from very good companies are planning to quit. - Results of annual surveys are fudged to make everything look rosy. - Really bad planning in lot of projects. - Since past couple of years they are trying to adopt Agile. But they think having a dedicated scrum master or product owner is waste of money/resources. - Managers want to show that they are working and for that they call lot of meetings over-burdening others. They can't take a decision. They delegate everything to team leads. - If you aspire to move in either technical or managerial line, even then you will be pushed in the other line. No proper career path for growth.

Pros

Nice covered parking, although the cafeteria is good and well situated, I doubt that it is subsidized by Sabre and it's very over priced.

Cons

I have worked as a project consultant for 10 years, Verizon, Pepsi Co, Ericsson, A T & T, I have never seen either managers or directors who are as clueless as those at Sabre. In my group, everyone of the managers and director spent at least 4.5 days all day in meetings, very little visibility or guidance for either the employees or the consultants. Literally hundreds of contractors, the main reason being cost, ergo, Sabre wants cheap contractors. We were originally brought in for a 6 month contract, supposedly very high visibility, then it's cut to 4 months, then two. The managers expect you to put in no more than 40 hours, however if they schedule a late meeting they expect you to not charge them for the meeting. In a few discussions with the employees of the unit none them have any respect for the current managers or the director and the only reason they stay is the money is decent and they can work from home a few days week, sad reasons to stay with a company.

Pros

Work flexibility, no micro management, good benefits and very easy going down to earth co-workers.

Cons

Pay is not as high, the waterfall/agile hybrid product development.
