I recently had the unfortunate experience of working at Sabre Corporation, and I must say it was quite an adventure. If you enjoy diving headfirst into an abyss of disorganized code, outdated technologies, and a complete disregard for software development best practices, then this is the place for you! First things first, let's talk about the technology stack. Forget modern web development with its fancy HTTP protocols and RESTful APIs. At Sabre, they proudly cling to the Stone Age of technology, using good old TCP/IP. Who needs simplicity and efficiency when you can have complexity and confusion, right? Now, brace yourself for the mind-boggling lack of any recognizable coding patterns or principles. OOP? Nah, who needs that when you can have a 3000-line-long Java file that is an unruly beast impossible to tame? Don't bother trying to make sense of the codebase because it's a labyrinth of spaghetti logic that will leave you scratching your head in disbelief. But wait, there's more! The icing on the cake is the "performance" excuse thrown around by the esteemed Principal and Team Leads. Apparently, implementing patterns and following best practices would somehow hinder performance. It's as if they believe that chaos and confusion are the secret ingredients to success. Good luck finding any semblance of maintainability or scalability in this code jungle. Let's not forget about the delightful location of the office itself. Tucked away in the corporate dystopia known as Zonamerica, it's conveniently located at least an hour away from any point in Montevideo. Picture this: a vast expanse of soulless buildings and three lonely trees. Oh, but fear not, for salvation comes in the form of electric scooters! Hop on one of those, and you can zoom your way through the corporate wasteland. In summary, working at Sabre Corporation was like navigating a never-ending maze of chaos and inefficiency. If you have a masochistic love for obsolete technologies, convoluted code, and a touch of corporate dystopia, then by all means, join the adventure. But for those seeking a sane and progressive work environment, run far, far away from this disorganized circus.
