Pros

There are some good points for SGS. Good co-workers. Original local management was perfect for the role.

Cons

Management of the OGC business within the South of the UK. I was forced to quit SGS through poor management in many areas. I was overworked and little consideration was given personal issues some of those caused by the fact you are required to work for the good of the company only. You are a number, a robot, nothing else. I was given ZERO career opportunity even though I worked harder than most and that commitment to the company was even overlooked in favour of someone else whom management favoured. This structure caused me personal ill health and mental fatigue. When the management system was change only a couple of years before I quit, the situation changed for the worse very quickly. Customers I had worked with for years complained about the changes and being forced to deal with others. I would discuss more here but, I can't as the anxiety at reliving the events is too much. If I ever changed companies again, I will never work with this manager again. I feel this person is destroying a good company and the employees.

Pros

The health benefits and 401k are competitive with other companies. The field staff does not have to work face to face with management from HQ in Cincinnati, they get to work from their homes.

Cons

Management is incompetent. Raises are given around once every three years at about 2 percent. They will promise vehicle allowances, but these vehicle allowances are at 1999-2000 rates, so you will travel 3000-5000 miles per month and will be paid around 21 cents per mile. Managers treat employees terrible...if employees have issues that need resolving, management motto is "It is what it is" If complaints are made to HR, employees will be terminated. Also, Management is irratic about yearly appraisals, about every yhree years. Possibly to keep from giving raises?

Pros

Any job will be easy after working here

Cons

- Low pay for work load/expectation of staff - Office is run through fear of management (Meera T) - The worst training I've ever experienced, first 3 days locked in a room with a computer and company policy training videos followed by 'sink or swim' on the job 'training' - All the office employee's are extremely quiet and unhappy, afraid to speak out. - The company seems to take advantage of newly immigrated employee's that don't have many options on their temporary work visas. - Management are very quick to reprimand staff, be-little people in the office and allow little room for growth or coaching, you are expected to understand everything immediately. - No health benefits, sick pay or holiday pay. - Witnessed bullying from management of staff - You will be provided with no equipment or laptop to help your job, the absolute minimum will be provided for the workload and if you are considering working from home you should have enough money to buy everything you need, even during peak covid no exceptions made.
