Pros

It' gives an opportunity to work in your field, the salary is paid on time, some people are nice to work with.

Cons

Ryanair HR team and management is the most incompetent I've ever had to deal with, low salary compare to what other companies can give for the same job, poor training and very little space to grow in the company, it's like working in Mc Donalds, with no much grow. Some people who are working in the company have no a little clue about aviation transport. Very little benefits to work for this company.

Pros

The only positive reason to join the engineering apprenticeship for Ryanair is the approved 147 course for Cat A. Or the modular exams for Cat B1.1.

Cons

Ryanair (AES) Is the most mismanaged company I have ever seen. The purpose of an apprenticeship is to learn. But within Ryanair you are used as man power as there is not enough LAEs to teach, through no fault of their own. The LAEs on shift are intelligent and willing to help when they have time, which is very few and far between. There is no HR in the UK, so getting holiday or even a contract can take months take myself for an example it took nearly 5 months to get a basic contract through let alone asking any questions. You have to purchase your own tooling, the tool boxes you can buy from Ryanair are a good start but have no space for further expansion. Ryanair and AES management are not willing to listen to concerns or change how they operate when I cannot name one apprentice who isn’t looking at leaving before or when they receive the approved 147 course. Jut consider Ryanair puts a new cohort of around 15-30 through every 6 months. Ryanair also want you to achieve you Cat A or B1 as soon as possible, which sounds amazing but they will not pay you to use it they will underpay you and use you as cheap labour. This role borderlines going against the apprenticeship standards. In summary, The only reason to work for Ryanair as an apprentice is to gain an approved course if every other apprenticeship in the UK has rejected yourself. You gain valuable knowledge from the Training provider (Resource Group), with whom most of the UK apprenticeships are ran with. I implore you to never consider Ryanair Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Apprenticeship if you have other options.
