Pros

Competitive salaries with good benefits, Global business with worldwide customer base, part of a larger global technology-based business with a strong engineering function.

Cons

Corporate processes developed for the UK-based aerospace business are frequently not applicable to the energy business with its customized products for oil and gas customers, Poor track record of cost reduction partially due to over-reliance on the aerospace supply chain for aircraft engines in low volume production, Too many free riders not held accountable for non-achievement of objectives.

Pros

Prestige in the name and very secure. Strong growth potential in the next decade with the entry into service of Airbus A350 and focus on cost

Cons

Surprisingly little in way of other benefits (e.g. canteen, nursery offers, discounts) and out dated IT infrastructure sometimes get in the way of getting the job done.
