Pros

Rolls-Royce is a globally recognised brand. Just having the name card opens doors at all levels within other organisations. What's more, Aerospace, both civil and defence, are on the bleeding edge of technology development. As one of the world's bets engineering companies seeing new and burgeoning technologies is a daily occurrence. In addition, work life balance is good and my work schedule can be quite flexible.

Cons

Rolls-Royce is matrix organisation and therefore clear reporting lines and accountability are almost non-existent. There are exceptions, but by and large it is easy to hide behind the complexity. We spend far too much time driving consensus and not enough time making and implementing decisions. Rolls-Royce also has some remanence of the civil service culture that permeates much of our decision making process. We are top heavy and do not empower people to make decisions and then hold them accountable.
