Pros

Pay is reasonable, pension contribution is good. Plenty of space on the site.

Cons

Almost everything else is a con! First day I was told " no one will speak to you because there is a high turn over staff in that position". So yeah pretty much a great time to quit right there! So what happens is there are a selection of PCB boards to repair. The selection of these PCBS is dictated by a co-worker. This co-worker has been there for decades and can do no wrong, no way they will pay them off. So you will be handed all the difficult boards whilst they do the easy ones and then you won't be able to meet your targets. But the co-worker then gets to keep their job! Also to slow you down some more, they don't have half the parts in stock and can take a month to order them. The soldering equipment is not fit for the task undertaken. Basically they want you to swap a 240 pin package with a hair dryer (no fancy nozzles here!!) There are practically no reference boards to compare the PCBs to, the schematics are a mess, test rigs break frequently and never maintained. No documentation for test software error codes, I could go on, but you get the idea, employees have gone ill with mental health problems! No surprises there eh!

Pros

Pay. That’s about all that keeps most of us coming back.

Cons

Very VERY poor management. Seems like they promote people that know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING as long as they like to be pushed around. Staff is overwhelmed and working skeleton crew in all shifts.

Pros

Flexible work hour and work life balance.

Cons

It is terrible experience if you are under some of hardware leader 1. Some hardware leader does not guide/teach you too much, you need survive by yourself. 2. Some hardware leader most does not come into Lab, no matter testing, troubleshooting or anything problems happen. (How to solve hardware problem without coming to lab?). they only want to work from home. 3. Some hardware leader push all things to the engineer who take this task.(Engineer learn how to do the task, estimate job load, find problem, solve problem and prepare the report). 4. Some hardware leader does not arrange(almost no plan) the team job/testing/troubleshoot very well. only relax from home. 5. Some hardware leader does not know how to manage people well. So overall what they do? push all things to job taker and they only collect the report from home and deliver to higher level manager.
