A great place to grow your career

Pros

The company believes in grooming and developing its staff - and you can see how some of them have grown their careers all the way from interns to managers, directors and even office heads. Sure there have been management and operational challenges in recent years, but things have started to stabilise and one can see that it is definitely heading in a more positive direction. The management has also put in place some pretty solid changes that have brought significant improvements to the business all round - from improving staff morale and business performance, fostering closer teamwork, to increasing productivity and efficiency. No organisation is perfect, but I do credit Robert Walters for always trying its best and not giving up in the face of adversities.

Cons

It would be great if the company can consider having more flexible work policies in place - which could potentially be both a good attraction /retention strategy for existing and new employees.

Pros

Most of the systems and process are well organised and smooth. Although organising billing to clients and dealing with backend finance team can be tortuous. As a manager it is easy to motivate/demotivate your staff by paying them more/paying them less than they deserve in their bonus Decent training for staff, although most employees have previous recruitment experience Large numbers of staff to feed information off and big name in the market

Cons

Misogynist boys club Being "one of the boys" is viewed more highly than performance or general input to the business Client relationships are not very strong and PSA/SLAs are generally poorly negotiated Terrible staff retention and choice of new hires often very poor Aggressive and rude behaviour by management (and subsequently by staff) is only frowned upon Bonuses are rarely equivalent to what would be paid to a commission based consultant Generally very negative environment to work in - very very low staff motivation and happiness so very tough for managers Highly transaction based recruitment style
