Pros
Iv learned so much about what its like to work in a high street store. The way it works, how people think, where the ideas come from, how its organised, why its all done in a certain way. There are so many things going on in one shop that people don't realise from the visual merchandisers and how they do their layouts depending on the seasons and customers, the area of the store etc. The product team and how they keep the shop maintained all day , operations and how they do all the behind the scenes jobs for the store and then sales and service that priorities their customers before any task. River island focus so much on their customers needs and are constantly motivating their staff members to give the best customer service as possible. All of the people Ive worked alongside in River Island are great people and have made my experience in the company unforgettable at times.
Cons
There is a lot of pressure put on every member of staff and management in the company from the highest positions all the way to level ones. I think the stress gets to some people and can be passed on to others that are working alongside them which can really cause a heavy atmosphere at times and some times confrontation.
