Pros

Every store is different, and I am very fortunate to work in a store where everyone gets along really well, we respect and help each other out. It doesn't matter who is above who in our store, we are all here to do the same job and that's representing RI. I've learned alot in the years i have worked for RI from my store manager and area manager Isla. They have put me forward for opportunities in helping out other stores which involves travelling to various RI shops, working alongside Visual merchandisers and head office employees. These opportunities are great for helping implement the visual layouts and getting ideas to feedback to your store, finding out more about RI and also meeting new people. Another few pros about working for RI is- 1.The pay has increased 2. Managers receive 50% discount £500 a month to spend and sales advisors 40% with £250 a month. 3. In my shop if you work a Sunday you will get the following weekend off.. not every shop works like that. 4. The company do regular incentives for each area. Prizes can include vouchers, I pads and beats headphones. 5. Having a great area and store manager to go to. 6. Uniform allowance. 7. Tasking being reduced.

Cons

1.Opportunities to move to a bigger store- not enough money offered. 2. Working late on Xmas eve- Usually sale prep for boxing day sale. 3. Uniform allowance should be more frequent. 4. Cashing up procedure has changed- more time consuming. 5. Head office change their minds on tasks to be done. It can be confusing.

Pros

Staff discount Flexible hours Good coffee

Cons

It is in the middle of no where - office feels like an institution You will not be trained properly. Training is almost nonexistent even if you have no previous experience in the role. Most of them don’t care and you will be expected to teach yourself how to do difficult things. The salary does not equate to the workload. When I was there, I was an MAA for THREE teams despite being relatively new with no real training, I had way too much responsibility and they don’t show any appreciation either. Very cliquey environment. I felt extremely unwelcome by my buying team. It made working with them difficult. I had NO work review or catch up with my manager. They just don’t care - I would left sooner if I could.
