Pros

1.Hours being reduced to 40 from 47 2.Assisting the poor and uneducated making the best decisions possible out a bad situation. 3.Co-workers. 4.Working in-doors sales manager.

Cons

1.Upper management they are closers sure you are if you were a closer you would take a real sales job and make more money with a fraction of the responsibility. 2.Roaches/bed bugs rent a center in whole needs to take control of this problem,it's not fair to the customer. 3.Shares in Rent-A-Center are at $15.30! Enough said.

Pros

The only pro I can think of is experiencing such a bad place, I can now appreciate companies with great cultures that much more.

Cons

It's basically a my way or the highway organization. Very micro managed. There is no exposure or opportunity for anyone under the manager level. People are constantly leaving due to the lack of quality leaders in the organization. I've seen more than one Manager leave after just a few weeks on the job. When you consistently see this, you have to ask yourself is this a place I really want to work? Also, HR (I was not part of HR) has absolutely no say in the organization. If you have an issue or problem (and I saw several during my time there), the person at the higher level will always win because they take care of their own. I've thought about taking this company off my resume because it has such a bad reputation in the area. I have found it a lot harder finding another job because people are scared you will bring in all the bad things they have heard go on here. Benefits are also really expensive. They're more than double what I have paid anywhere else.

Pros

They pay overtime. Used to have some cool people to work with, but they have all quit or been terminated. It's a big project in a slow market.

Cons

One of the most unorganized, badly lead, and poorly designed implementations I have ever worked on. That have spent 6 years and millions to write the application SIMS and it is still no where near going live. Every few years they flush the team and start over. Here are just a few highlights: 1) Senior management on the project are internal and know the core business very well, but have little understanding of software development. 2) There is no real plan or requirements, so they just call it Agile. In reality, no one really knows what anything is supposed to do until they users test it. 3) Seasoned team members are marginalized if they challenge the status quo. 4) Developer workstations are terribly outdated and come with 2 - 4 gigs ram 6) Everyone is scared to speak in meetings 7) One perceived slight and you are out the door without any warning 8) Strict hierarchy. You may only talk to your manager and only your manager will talk to you. 9) You will be asked to do things you know will not work just so your manager can say" he told you to do it and you didn't get it done" to protect his rear end. 10) If something is blocking you from getting done it's your fault even if you have no control over it and raised the issue to management. Management just expects you to "get it done" without their help even when the jobs spans multiple teams.
