Pros

Decent pay, do something different every day. Meet good coworkers!

Cons

The company has turned all sales based so be prepared to make a lot of telemarketing calls to the same people on a regular basis. It gets really old! And recently the company just started requiring employees to work on Memorial day, 4th of July, and labor day. Next well be working on Christmas!

Pros

Benefits are good pay is ok

Cons

No home life and work life balance. RENT A CENTER MOTTO "TO IMPROVE THE LIFE OF OUR CUSTOMERS AND CO WORKERS" I have been with this company going on 3 years this September. This company has changed so much and it's not for the better. Don't get me wrong I enjoy what I do. But I feel that my family life is slowly being taken away. Our Saturday's are held hostage. As we often get to leave early which is 6pm. We don't get to leave until 8:30 if numbers aren't hit. We often work over 12 hours a day as I come in at 8-8:30 every morning and stay until 7:30-8pm and often don't get to take a lunch. With this new flex labor plan and 40 hour coworkers it makes it more difficult to get our work done. We used to get the Fourth of July, Memorial Day and Labor Day off. That's not happening anymore. I am slowly loosing family time. This mission statement is false and I do not believe in it. Ever since Robert Davis took over rent a center has come crashing down. New systems aren't up to par and frequently freezes up

Pros

It's easy when you're starting out as a part time delivery specialist or a customer account representative, you come in do your job and are generally worry free. That is until you decide to advance and bust your tail to move up through the ranks. See my cons for that.

Cons

Once you move up in your positions the demands on a daily basis to do whatever possible to get sales and move credit numbers makes your hair turn gray in your 20s. Most people don't last long at Rent-A-Center unless they have a VERY high tolerance for stress, or just DGAF. They will push you and push you until you break and then let you go if you don't perform. They don't want to know what you've done for them in the past, they want to know what you're doing for them RIGHT this minute. NO WORK LIFE BALANCE AT ALL. Expect that even if you get hired on as a 40 hour employee you will work with Sunday and one week day off and work 9 AM to 7 PM with an hour lunch every day.
