Pros

Opportunity for advancement was great in the beginning. Always a large amount of projects going on and interesting work. As you attempted to advance to a more senior level you had to be a "yes man".

Cons

Executive leadership had no strategy or vision for staying up to date with the current retail industry and their target customer base. If you challenged the old regime way of thinking you were let go.

Pros

Interaction with my Co-workers was the highlight of my days. I have not been able to find another group of Co-workers I'd like to spend time with outside of work...since RAC.

Cons

There are SOOOOOOOOOO many cons. If I listed them all, you'd think I was exaggerating. Unless, of course, you've worked for the company yourself. If I were to sum it all up, I'd have to say that the culture of the company was and is destructive. Management, instead of seeking ways to improve upon/motivate their employees, actually instructed Supervisors to find excuses NOT to give employees' raises. I remember sitting through a quarterly meeting one year, and the CEO said that some employees felt that RAC was the best choice for employment. I purposely looked around to see if others were as puzzled as I was. We ALL had a look of confusion on our faces. Anything is a better choice when you feel as if you don't have one. That's how out of touch he was with his employees. I used to give him the benefit of the doubt, but I knew that he knew how his employees felt. He didn't care enough to ask "why does everyone look so depressed all the time?" Numerous people that left RAC, have gained more knowledge and experienced more opportunity than what they ever would have had they stayed. Ask the ones who are still there? A modern day "Twilight Zone."

Pros

They promote their employees very fast. Its a place you want to be if you want to move up quick.

Cons

Some of the downside of working here is that they make to many promises and doesn't stick to it.I've been with this company over a year.I loved it so much and I made sure I push myself everyday.I worked hard to reach my sales goals and I had no problem doing it.I was Top Gun back to back every week. And not once They made me feel appreciate it. It seems like the harder I work the the less they appreciate you.I felt like I was being taken for granted. The other things that bother me is that the Manager did to many retype up and they would get top gun.I felt like that was unfair to the employees who actually did work for it because we actually had to work for our sales. When all they did was took the easy way out just to get the sales or they try to beat their employees to be the best.I don't get enough training and they make me feel like it's my fault if I don't know something.Maybe If I had some good training I would learn to do so much more and maybe just maybe I'll be good enough for he company to move up.I tried so hard to pick up things and teach my self how to do something. They don't give you enough credit. And when you do good it still isn't enough.Feeling worthless and not good enough. Also when it was time to do raises I didn't expect to get the raise I did.I felt like I deserve more then what they credited me for.My pay was at 13.72 they gave me a 27 cents raised when I was promise 1-2 dollars raise as long as I keep up with my sales and do more then what was expected. I did more then what was asked of me. so with that said. That leave it at 13.99 .When I saw that,It was a slap to my face.It was kinda an insults to me.A penny away from 14.00 it was like I wasn't good enough to deserve the penny.I love my job.I just wish they treat their employees better then this.I got to the point to where I want to leave the company.Unless they realized they just can't walk all over their employees like that. They pick favorites and who gets what and who get promoted. Some get promoted when I feel they wasnt ready. Some of them have horrible attitudes and are lazy and yet they get moved up in the company. That doesnt make sense. And those that bust their butt get look at like you arent good enough. Its such a disapointment to me. I JUST don't know anymore.I hope things turn around...
