Pros

It was a great place to hang my hat for ten years, and I have many happy memories of the people and friendships. It is still a good place to work, but no longer great.

Cons

No longer a meritocracy, at least in the circles I traveled in. Many management positions are being filled with people from opposing cultures and proprietary companies. This is driving away the passionate and squashing meritocracy. No longer terribly transparent, lots of decisions behind closed doors because of the point mentioned above.

Pros

- Having "Red Hat" on your resume - Free training, if you can get approval

Cons

- The new management for technical support has made it very clique-ish. If you worked for Apple, you can do no wrong, promotions and raises flow like water. If you didn't work for Apple, leave. - Poor work/life balance. Management demands you stay late, skip lunches, etc - all for the "customer" - Under paid by about 30% - Too few people for workload - No appreciation - Promotions are dangled like carrots so you skip pay raises, haven't had a raise in 18 months, not even a pay bump. - Claim to be about meritocracy and transparency, but if you counter anything management says, you are blacklisted

Pros

The company growth is the only Pros in EMEA from my point of view. US management should follow a bit more what is going on in EMEA

Cons

Incompetent EMEA sales management who got their role only because of some friendships, because they are not sales they are creating a very particular atmosphere that is not the reflect of US or countries atmosphere. Unfortunately these incompetent people are protected internally and will never move, but why moving when you are paid doing nothing!? Way too much admin and not enough sales, still want to think they are a startup, the world's biggest start up they say.
