Pros

The people doing the "actual work" on average are a great bunch.

Cons

The management team at the corporate level seems to be very disconnected and "full of themselves." The wage scales are significantly below average. The work areas for all departments reflect the call center mentality throughout the company providing miniscule or no work spaces. Very much a third world mentality toward employees.

Pros

The 40% discount that the employes get.

Cons

The biggest challenge of working at Restoration Hardware is their culture. If you buy into their "cult like" culture, you will be fine. They have everyday meetings called " Core Values Meeting" which are little surprises everyday. A good day is when they discuss product or anything business related, but that doesn't happen too often. Usually they want you to tell them something about your life, and possibly cry, so you can really have a good start to your day. Crazy!!!! We were also brought outside and were made to observe and listen to a piece of chocolate and grape. I'm not kidding!!!!! The people running the meetings are the so called leaders( managers). So, if they hire a crazy one, and believe me, they do, well... Then good luck!!!!!!

Pros

The company tends to attract very smart, talented people, which makes for a great group of colleagues.

Cons

It doesn't matter if you've worked for one year, or over 10 years for this company, a Leader has the power to fabricate misdeeds about an employee. That employee then has to figure out how to improve their actions, that are based on fabricated accusations to begin with, or risk being fired. Quite impossible to do. I've watched dedicated, talented individuals, who live and work epitomizing the companies Rules/Values be fired after years of service, for truly no reason, except that the Leader wanted them gone. (In most cases, the employee could be replaced by someone cheaper). It's sad to know that a Leader has that much power over someone's livelihood.
