Pros

The corporate culture is incredible, everyone feels valued and can have a point of view from the bottom on up. The room for growth potential is definitely there and up to each individual, I was promoted 5 times in the last 12 months.

Cons

"If you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life" - You must truly love your job at RH because as a store leader level you truly never get a day off, you are always connected to the business and store.

Pros

The Corte Madera campus is located in a nice area. The employees are hardworking, friendly and personable and there is a great work/life balance. It is a fun and creative environment to work in.

Cons

I do not have any negative comments to share and would highly recommend Restoration Hardware to others seeking employment opportunities.

An absolute nightmare

Pros

Coffee and tea provided in the kitchens Sample sales (infrequent) Salary ranges are higher than the average mass retailer

Cons

Where do I begin? This was by far the worst experience I've had in my career. 1,)The workload is absolutely ridiculous - there is no end. The company claims to have a start up environment, but they are stuck in backwards processes and will not adapt to change. I've worked for a start-up before, and believe me, Resto is not a start up. Expect to never feel a sense of completion. 2.) Resto is a disorganized company with a CEO who is a micro-manager and that trickles down from the top. "Retail is detail," according to the CEO, which means you can pretty much expect to have your manager monitoring every little thing you do. 3.) Expect to be driven by fear. Meetings are scary, with or without the CEO. 4.) Work/life balance does not exist. Even assistant buyers are salaried and often work late nights and weekends. The lack of work/life balance is propagated by promoting people who put their life into the company. Expect to work some late nights and weekends. 5.) ZERO company culture. No happy hours, no lunch breaks (unless it's someone's last day), no company sponsored social events, not even an email promoting employee morale. ZERO community involvement. 6.) Gmail is used as the email server and the company is all on macs. This may seem like a perk until you open up Excel and realize it's taking you twice as long to get your work done because Macs were not designed to support any type of financial based work. 7.) Cult like environment - the "I love Resto and I dedicate my life to working here cult" is weird and either you're a part of it or not. If you don't drink the koolaid, you'll be made to feel like an outsider. 8.) No 401k match and you can't start contributing until you've been there 6 months.
