Pros

Good salary but trust me, not worth the headache

Cons

You'll be attached to a wired headset throughout your shift, you'll have to report when you attend the toilet when you leave your desk even to just get a glass of water. Your lunch and breaks will be added to your daily schedule so you have no say when you would like to take your breaks or lunch, this will automatically be added to your schedule by a leader whenever they want to give you the time slot. There's no such a socialising culture in the office, they're against talking or socialising with your colleagues at work and outside of work. Super heavy, negative atmosphere... Just toxic! micromanagement culture no matter how experienced you are.

Pros

It's a pleasure to work with most of the associates in the store.

Cons

No matching 401k, expensive high deductible healthcare, no commission for sales, unobtainable incentive goals, very little support from upper management, no mentorship or room for growth. The company has great values that aren't enforced consistently. High turnover and frequent layoffs; no stability. The company has a lot of debt and their pursuit of luxury is at the expense of their employees. The product is low quality, yet still has a cult like following. Layoffs leave the team understaffed and overworked. Huge gaps are created when the support staff at corporate are laid off without competent replacements. Communication is non-existent until they are ready to terminate associates' employment.

Pros

This is a good role for people trying to get into the interior design field, as it equips you with a transferable skillset.

Cons

The one pro is not worth the ridicule. RH's brand becomes their umbrella excuse. Their "high standards" are their excuse for treating employees poorly. I witnessed racism at RH. I witnessed classism at RH. I witnessed illegal practices at RH. RH has exceptionally strict, and often arbitrary, rules that are to be followed blindly. It has a cult mentality that many former employees often speak to. Their long list of rules is to create uniformity. They reject any kind of personality or autonomy. There is no grace from upper management. (Except from Lauralee, the Curator in SF, who showed the most support and care to everyone she worked with- She deserves better than this company!) Management points a lot of fingers and shows no support to employees, only petty complaints in the form of "feedback." Management is unreasonable in most situations. I did not feel supported and I did not feel like anyone had my best interest in mind. I left this job feeling so beat down and tired. It took me a long time to recover from the general feeling I got at work here every day. This job radicalized me and has taught me not to accept mistreatment in any form and to stand up for my peers when they too are mistreated.
