Pros

RH offer High pay for this role type however this was still not worth the daily struggle of working for this company. They hire great, like-minded people and have lots of new genuine friendships and without the support of my peers, I would have left much sooner.

Cons

Heavy micromanagement from the very top trickles down and makes for an unpleasant working environment with a lack of respect and trust. You hire me for my skill set and capabilities then continue to belittle decisions I make in the interest of my customers and the protecting the brand experience. They would like you to appear like you're doing productive work so that the workforce team are satisfied and can justify the cost of running the department despite many of the systems and processes not working properly resulting in many difficulties in completing daily tasks. I've never worked for a company with such a poor structure for resolving large technical and procedural issues. You are a huge company in the US, launching into the European market with zero workforce to implement this huge undertaking. It felt embarrassing discussing with customers some of their experiences with the reputation RH has, Gary should be on the ground in the UK figuring out what on earth is going wrong, and there are a team of 15 customer service associates who are ready to tell you exactly what isn't working and where money should be invested rather than diversifying into Yachts and Private Jets. Because of this, there is a lack of reliable support and training, with always the response of 'good question' & 'we will circle back' with NO follow-up. I shared my opinions and experience regarding the lack of leadership and communication with my director. I saw zero improvement over the time I was there because ultimately they don't care. However, will use the reason for you not replying to a message within an 'appropriate amount of time' as a genuine reason to have a performance review and fire someone they don't personally like. You are treated like children consistently being told too many people are talking, despite if you are training teammates, discussing work and problem-solving with colleagues and even when on your unpaid lunch break because it is an open office. Management also focuses more on the dress code rather than offering a positive working environment. If my performance is based on my choice of shoes and my daily contribution is overlooked, you know progression and building a career with this company will not be based on merit but only if you follow their nonsense 'rules' and don't become part of the 'drama triangle' They want someone who can think for themselves and outside of the box for their customer BUT ONLY if that falls inside the RH Box they have laid out. Don't be fooled by the impressive script of their vision, values and beliefs. I could go on for days but ultimately my mental health suffered tremendously working for RH and I only stayed so long due to consistent promises that things would get better, when it comes down to it they are dishonest and don't care enough to try.

Pros

RH is A++ EXCELLENT at hiring a whole workforce of incredible and smart talent. I had the privilege to work with some of the absolute best people in the industry. People actually give a crap here and really care about trying to do their best work. Your job title will probably look really cool and important compared to most other companies. All walks of life, respectful environment from an HR perspective. They do not tolerate sexual harassment. People of color, women, and LGBTQ found in all types of roles including Leadership.

Cons

Turnover can either be so high you're constantly overworked trying to cover the gaps or so low you will never move up. ZERO 401k match. This will erode your loyalty more and more as time goes on. They say the pay is competitive, but after the lack of 401k match and expensive health insurance for even a medium deductible, it's average at best. Try not to be illusioned by the slightly higher pay rate. Internal stress is so high right now with people leaving left and right after self-inflicted wounds created by upper management rushing (even though fast is as slow as we go?). They will recite the values that we value people that are smart and creative with a point of view and say that you are empowered.... yet, punish you because you can not solve the enormous problems that they created and refuse to properly repair. Everything is bandaid patch after bandaid patch. They would rather lay people off and hire a senior or executive employee to own an erroneous task they do not want to oversee as opposed to hire enough people to properly staff the department in the first place. If they decide they no longer like you, they will create a reason to get rid of you or inflict your failure. Yet don't be surprised who they retain for mysterious reasons. The values can be incredibly comforting and inspiring. If you feel like you have been betrayed, because THIS IS PERSONAL, the values feel like a small culty prison of lies. And you will feel very alone because it would be arguably disrespectful and repulsive to insinuate that you do not feel moved by the values and beliefs 100% of the time. You will be automatically labeled as "not our people". Forget the discount unless you already come from money. It is so expensive that even 50% off is intangible for most people in the company. The outlet CAN be reasonable if you live close to one or if you are ok with accepting less than perfect product. 10 days paid vacation for the first 3 years. Feels very minimal and tight but honestly you will feel like you never have any time to take off anyway. It is likely that you will work long hours. Some people love this because the job can be incredibly rewarding, some will not because they may not feel adequately compensated for their contribution. No stock options unless you are at least a director level. Feels very classist and most do not know that stock option even exists. Culture and Values receives 3 stars because it depends on who you work for. It could be 5 stars, it could be 1 star.

Pros

Free fancy water, sometimes they give you leftover cookies from the restaurant, the other people you work with (at your level) are really great. The healthcare is also not bad and is actually pretty affordable.

Cons

Lies, no mobility in terms of pay or title, the “values” they use to manipulate you, the way they move goalposts to make anything you do never enough, the godlike praise they give the CEO.
