Pros

Beautiful campus and offices to work in with free coffee and RH furniture. Product sold is high quality and innovative. Salary is a little low but still competitive. Free Parking.

Cons

There is ZERO work/life balance. This is a dysfunctional company that is out of control and very top heavy. Leadership is disconnected and constantly sets unrealistic expectations. There is little to no investment being put into technology and systems which would alleviate several of the problems being seen. There is no training once hired and day 2 you are already in the thick of things with little support. Management leads through intimidation and scare tactics...expect to be thrown under the bus. No 401k Match. Stay far away from this company if you value career growth, want any type of work/life balance, and if you you want to be valued/respected while putting in the hard work.

Pros

Your fellow associates will be some of the best people you will ever meet, and I am happy to have left having made some of my best friends here.

Cons

Everything else. For a company that preaches “people first” and tries to shove it up your wahoo every single day in an hour long “values” meeting where everyone lies, they sure as hell don’t care about their people. 401k is not matched, Time off is extremely limited, and getting it approved is a hassle — plus, you are not allowed to take unpaid time off. Wellness time is a pain to use, since you have to call into the gallery to speak to a manager and proceed to have to explain your symptoms. There are no bonuses, no commission, not even a pizza party… even if you make the company millions of dollars. Growing and developing a career here is close to impossible. On top of that, the CEO is a megalomaniac that spends all the money the hardworking galleries make on buying yachts and private jets disguised as a “company investment” instead of giving his workers a raise (no joke, last year during my review I got a raise of 50 cents) or even a christmas bonus. (Gallery and Field Leaders do get bonuses though, so they will be on you about numbers) All we got was a miserly 20 dollar starbucks giftcard on thanksgiving. Believe every con on glassdoor, for I didn’t and now I’m paying the price.

Culture of Disrespect

Pros

The work itself was interesting but the culture was untenable.

Cons

The culture of RH is unlike any I have experienced in my 15 years in the industry. The majority of staff are contractors who are not given paid sick time or paid holidays and they are kept on six month contracts, some for over a decade. It’s commonplace for senior staff to no show at their own meetings then require their subordinates to stay onsite until 2am for ego driven brainstorming sessions. Worst yet, I have witnessed many instances of discrimination against LGBTQ contractors. One contractor was mid-transition and RH staff misgendered and laughed at them publicly in meetings. It was horrendous, and management either ignored or participated in the harassment. If you have a conscience run as far as you can from this company.
