Thank you for sharing such positive feedback and for your continued commitment to RAC. It’s great to hear that you value the benefits, earning potential, equipment, and management support, and that health and safety is clearly felt as a priority — that’s central to how we operate. We do recognise that long shifts, evenings, and weekend work can be demanding. As a 24/7 service for our members, this can sometimes be part of the role, but we’re continuously looking at ways to introduce more flexible ways of working for our frontline colleagues wherever possible. Thanks again for everything you do for our members and for taking the time to leave your review.

Cons

Decision‑making can be slow due to multiple layers of approval and governance Change can be difficult to implement in a traditionally structured organisation Workloads can be heavy during peak delivery phases, with tight timelines Cross‑team dependencies can impact delivery and are sometimes challenging to manage Communication between departments can be inconsistent

Thank you for taking the time to share such a thoughtful review and for your continued commitment to RAC over more than a decade. It’s great to hear that you’ve been able to grow your career through multiple promotions and work on large‑scale programmes with real customer impact; that long‑term progression and exposure across the business is something we really value. We also appreciate your honest feedback around decision‑making, workloads during peak delivery and cross‑team communication. These are areas we know can be challenging in a complex, regulated environment, and your suggestions around resourcing, transparency and agile ways of working are very much heard and will be passed on to the relevant teams. Thank you again for your openness and for continuing to be part of the RAC journey.

Pros

This is a genuinely high‑performing business where people are trusted to get on with the job and make things happen. The pace is fast, expectations are clear, and there’s very little bureaucracy — which means you can see the impact of your work almost immediately. Leadership is direct and candid, including at the most senior levels. You always know where you stand, and conversations are honest rather than sugar‑coated. That style won’t suit everyone, but if you value transparency and clear accountability, it’s refreshing and motivating. The level of autonomy is a huge plus. You’re trusted to make decisions, own outcomes, and lead rather than wait for permission. As a result, development is rapid — I’ve grown more here in a short space of time than I have elsewhere over much longer periods. There’s also a strong sense of shared achievement. When the business wins, it feels collective. People work hard, but they care deeply about what they’re building and about delivering results together.

Cons

This is not a slow or gentle environment. The pace and intensity can feel demanding at times, and it definitely isn’t a place to coast. You need to be comfortable with challenge, change, and taking personal ownership for outcomes. Workloads can be heavy during peak periods, so you need to be good at managing priorities and energy. Support is there, but personal accountability is a big part of the culture.

Thank you for taking the time to share such a thoughtful review. It’s great to hear how much you value the pace, trust and transparency in the business, and that you’ve felt able to grow and make an impact. Creating an environment where people have clear expectations, real ownership and can see the results of their work quickly is something we’re continually working to build and strengthen. We also appreciate your honesty about the pace and intensity. You’re right - it’s not a place to coast, and personal accountability is a big part of how we operate. We know that can be demanding at times, so continuing to support colleagues to manage priorities and sustain performance is an important focus for us. Thanks again for your contribution over the past few years and for helping shape what we’re building together.
