      A good way to kickstart a career in IT if you can get a job contract after training.

      Pros

      - Learn a range of new IT skills in the academy. - Opportunity get industry recognised certifications. - Very helpful consultant liaisons and tech manager for onsite work. - Can start a career in IT without a computer science degree. - Work on real, challenging projects with clients.

      Cons

      - Not everyone in the academy gets a contracted role. In some instances the proportion of people in a training intake that gets a contract from QA is quite low. - Communication while on the bench is poor. - Little room for promotions and progression as a consultant after a few years. - First annual review pay increase is fixed - pay increase is not dependent on job performance or skill.

      Good for experience, bad for benefits

      Pros

      You'll get fast tracked to work for huge clients and get great experience. If you're a strong minded and ambitious individual who doesn't have salary as a priority, this is the company for you.

      Cons

      Low pay which isn't adjusted for different cities (apart from London), low benefits, very little holidays, need to pay £12k if you wanna leave before the 2 year contract (payable within 30 days)

      Good while they want you, bad when they don't

      Pros

      Good to the employees while they want you.

      Cons

      No support or direction at all right from day one, it’s just get on with it, sink or swim. Almost no contact and no help from my manager while I was there. If they decide they don’t need you they just discard like an old tin can.
