Unfair business practices, be warned of what's coming.
Pros
I absolutely love this company and am 100% a believer of their products and everything they do as a business. The CEO Pablo is an inspiring guy. He knows what he's doing and always aim to go further. I love the people working at Produce Pay and love the culture. The workload is pretty chill, might get bored after a while though. Nevertheless, the company is always growing and won't stop growing anytime soon.
Cons
Here's where it's tricky. I applied for a permanent position and have the credentials for it and even went through all the interviews. In the very lack second, they pull a switch and bait on you saying that "company has some changes and can only offer you an intern position at $13.25/hr." First of all, I already graduated college and have years of experience. I don't think I can even legally qualify as an "intern." You'll have to be an intern for 3 months and they'll evaluate you at the end to see if they want you. So even though you're "in" you're still not "in" because it's not a guarantee. As an intern you'll be scanning papers, getting mail, and sending out some mail. You'll do all these stupid tasks that makes you think about life and your qualifications. I tried hard to look past it, but when you stop learning, it gets real boring. So 6 weeks in, I got offered at another company and this is when the CFO calls to get me back. If they stuck with the original permanent offer of 50k, I wouldn't have went looking for another job. I think the company should not cheap out for those 3 months and just hire the right guy with the right credentials in the first place. I hope the company will learn from this experience because I don't want the company to waste their time and the time of the applicants. I think the CFO mixes his emotions with his work and it can come off an unprofessional. After he called me and asking for me back, he then turns 180 and says "nvm I don't like your attitude, we don't want you here, chow." I didn't take it personally because I was trained by my previous company to be professional. I also heard a lot of employees are afraid for this job security. Since it's a start-up, you can't afford to make mistakes. Some were close to getting fired while some were actually fired.
