Pros

Great facilities, good 401K match and talented co-workers. The home office is a in a great location. The ability to work from home.

Cons

Employees are not held accountable. Pension plans were cut and employee portion of the health insurance premiums have increased by 25% while the company portion has remained relatively flat since going public. Lack of leadership/strategic direction including inadequate resource deployment. Differences of opinions are not viewed favorably. High performers have been leaving the company in droves over the last 6 months.

Pros

Great people for the most part, real camaraderie among the technical teams. Working in the healthcare industry is stressful sometimes but also fulfilling. The pay is at the market level.

Cons

Premier is not a software company, they don’t understand technology or product. Over the years they went through a ton of acquisitions, never invested in any kind of modernization or rework, and ended up with a collection of old applications that are difficult to maintain, change or integrate. There’s a constant push to save money by moving work offshore, reducing the number of onshore contractors, and laying off employees. The remaining staff is overworked and under appreciated, the customers are unhappy, the overall vibe is negative. The organization works in silos, there’s a big disconnect between what the business wants, what product management can do, and what the engineering is dealing with.
