Pros

If you are in a position that has a ton of visibility, you are taken care of.

Cons

There is no sense of job security, the new CEO is insane, cutting costs left and right (by ending leases, forcing people to relocate, and but cutting entire departments altogether) Our team of 50 was terminated Jan 18, despite being above quota every year. I can understand why we were cut though. No one knew there was an inside sales team. There was no push from the top to integrate the team into the long standing routines of the outside teams. There was no announcement. Months are spent, upon hire, trying to get the word out that we even existed. Those that utilized our talent were very successful. Those that did not were often below their quota. The focus is on the outside account management teams, who are stretched so thin that it is literally not possible for them to get around to all of their customers regularly. This is why inside sales was started in the first place. Philips had, and will continue to have, a reputation of terrible customer service. They are the company that closes the deal, and then never touches you again.

Many thanks for taking a moment to share your thoughts. It's regrettable to hear how you feel about some of the choices that were made. Please do note that decisions of relocating or layovers are not thought of lightly. The fast paced market we operate in sometimes asks for these decisions. I do wish you all the best in your career from here on out. And thank you for the work you've done whilst being part of our company.

Pros

Interesting projects to work on Great retirement plans

Cons

Most employee work 24/7 accommodating people in multiple time zones. If you are in Pacific Time Zone, you day at work normally starts around 6AM. There are no processes around anything. Company follows a legacy process that they invited which doesn't align with reality of how cross-functional disciplines operate. Design processes are being recognized by or followed by anybody even design teams as they mainly care to align with whatever legacy rule they have to follow. The people who have a seat at the table when making decisions are mainly the execs. Often, designers end up designing products that look like garbage and present no logics. Salaries almost never increase even though they are supposed to raise every year. You see 50something dollars more in your paycheck after you've been company slave for a year. Designgers whose job is to invent Healthcare products are often dominated by former medical workers who joined Philips to perform medical exams and assist Engineering. If you are a designer, you are being perceived as a wireframe monkey whose job is to follow what the medical professionals will tell you. The moment you advocate for a better user experience, your presence can become a problem. People who manage designers mostly care about their reputation but not about the happiness of their employees at work. Salaries are low. Once you've joined, forget about raise.

Pros

Excellent Benefits. Empathetic Management. Flexible Hours.

Cons

REALLY early hours if you are based on the West Coast. Expectation that you will start your day at 4AM regularly. Really white, male organization. We just had IWD and there was a focus on how many women in senior leadership but I'm not seeing that. I am a L80 and I am regularly the only woman in meetings and the rest are all white men. The diversity clearly isn't in my department.

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to review your employer. Your feedback is very welcome. We're glad to hear that you're keen on working for Philips in Alpharetta and that you're happy with the provided benefits and flexible hours. At Philips we believe that the best place to work is an inclusive and diverse one and we regret that you don't see the diversity you expected to see in your department. When it comes to the working hours: we understand that having to start very early is not always too ideal (or possible). We'll make sure to forward your feedback and advice to our management, but please feel free to share your thoughts with your HR representative as well (if you haven't yet). Thank you again for leaving your review here on Glassdoor and thank you for being on board!
