Pros

Benefit package is better than mediocre but less than great. Product seems to have a good reputation... wonder how long that will last. If you are in top management you don't have to worry about listening to the employees.

Cons

A very top down managed company and getting worse every year. Management is royalty... perhaps related to the parent company "Royal Dutch Philips" Cheap, cheap, cheap: The Dutch ownership squeezes the employee nickel till the buffalo on it shits. Philips is a vehicle for exporting US dollars to The Netherlands. No position of any importance is maintained in the US if it can be moved to The Netherlands. If you ain't Dutch... you ain't much. Seriously question how long market share will survive when customers call for anything at all and get a voice from India. Logistics outsourced to UPS... when was the last time you were delighted with UPS service? Risk aversion is the only game played.

Pros

Started to communicate and become more marketing-oriented. Really enjoyed going to the Corp offices, especially the organizational development courses that were offered. Had a lot of independence for my area of expertise.

Cons

Perception of 'old boys network' gets in the way of productivity, credibility and trust. Quality of work of some personnel was glaringly horrible, but those people still had jobs even when it got to the point that they had nothing to do because everyone else figured out how to work around them.

Pros

The people are great and the benefits are great. It's a hard-working group of serious folks. Seems everyone is a type A personality and they push through projects fast. Quality of product is excellent.

Cons

Transparency and internal communications are an issue. Quality of life-work/life balance is an issue for many people. Not much responsiveness from counterparts overseas on putting in the effort or the hours.
